Help Support Maness Furniture
As many of you know, Maness Furniture had their main showroom and quite a bit of their stock destroyed by a recent fire. We would like to encourage you to stopy by and shop there if you are looking for furniture. We want to help support a local business in a time of need. They are currently open for business in their warehouse on the corner of Main & Rusk.
BBQ Fundraiser
On Wednesday, August 4 from 11a-2pm the teens will be hosting a BBQ lunch to raise funds for a mission trip. Tbe menu includes: brisket, sausage, potato salad, beans, bread, cobbler, & a drink. Tickets are $10 and available from any teen.

From August 8-September 17, we would like for our congregatino to honor the businesses in our community by making a special treat and delivering it to a business with an invitatino to the services. Examples: Making cookies & dropping them off where you get your oil changed or giving some to your student's bus driver.

Several members of our congregation will travel to SVIS to minister through helping with building projects, VBS, and worship services. SVIS is a Nazarene grammar school dedicated to educating & winning to Christ children from the surrounding Navajo & Hopi nations. You can help them without even leaving Texas! You can donate funds to sponsor their trip. Just notate "Sun Valley Mission Trip" on your offering. We are excited about what God will do through our church at SVIS.

Honoring the "Stars of Kilgore"
In our services on Sunday Sep 19, we will be honoring the Stars of Kilgore. The plan is to have a special service that day honoring people in our community followed by a dinner for them. Who are the "Stars of Kilgore"? Our emergency service people (EMTs, firemen, peace officers, doctors, & nurses), as well as our educators (teachers, principals, school staff, etc.) and the businesses and owners in our community. Businesses in our community inclue those places where our Disciple Makers have been meeting. To start the ball rolling, we encourage our Disciple Makers to include a gift with a card to the staff of the facility where the weekly meetings are held. Suggestions for gifts are home baked cookies or other treats that people might enjoy. We will have some invitations made up. We suggest you attach a card with a message similar to this: "In the City of Stars we, as representatives of Kilgore Church of the Nazarene, wish to recognize (name of business) and the staff as Stars of Kilgore for the years that the business has served the Kilgore community. We are exteng an invitation to you, your staff, and your families to join us on September 19 for a special service and luncheon honoring you as a Star of Kilgore. Services will start at 10:am and lunch will immediately follow the service.
