LIFE Groups Begin Week of

Just as the life of our human bodies is found in our individual cells, so the life of a healthy church is in its cells – its small groups – that we call LIFE Groups. The DNA of each person is found in each living cell of their body. It is our design that the DNA of our church be in each of our small groups or LIFE Groups.
The New Testament church was not established by buying property and constructing a building, but by forging a community of believers that met both in large gatherings and in houses. This New Testament pattern is still the best way to “do church.”
Most churches have no problem with the public meeting of its members. In fact, weekly Sunday morning meetings and midweek services are the norm for most traditional churches. However, a growing number of churches are realizing the need for smaller, more intimate home meetings in addition to the weekly services. These home meetings are called by various names, one of which is LIFE Group meetings. 19 of the 21 largest churches in the world (all running over 30,000 people up to over 1 million people) are all cell-based churches.
The day may come when all public houses of worship in America are destroyed, banned or taxed out of existence. Should this ever happen, as it has happened in so many countries of the world, the true Church of our Lord Jesus Christ will continue to flourish and thrive “underground” in small groups meeting in homes – just as the Church of our Lord did for 300 years from the time of Christ until the early 300’s A.D.
In Old First Church Jerusalem the first Christians met daily in the temple for worship (large groups gatherings for worship and teaching) and they also met daily in countless homes for the purpose of prayer, worship, fellowship, and sharing meals together. (LIFE groups)
We gratefully acknowledge the great work for our Lord that is being done by one of the largest churches in our denomination – Colombia House of Prayer – in Cali, Colombia. They have been one of the leading churches in our denomination to develop and extensively use multiplying cell groups to grow their massive church for the glory of God. May God help us to develop small groups – LIFE Groups for His glory, the salvation of souls and the making of Christlike Disciples. text.
